Telemedicine is one of the best resources consumers can have when it comes to having access to a doctor. Dr. Wagner has used it when she had a tooth infection as she has shared in several posts. Lo and behold, we were very surprised to discover that in Texas the Texas Medical Board bars telemed prescriptions.
You must read it for yourself. The board said a patient must be examined in person before a prescription can be issued. WOW!! People save money on co-pays when they have access to a doctor over the phone. What about the people who are uninsured, yet they have high blood pressure and their prescription just ran out.
Everyone is not out to abuse medication. People need to be able to take care of their health. We wonder who is going to win in this situation. Will they be surprised if more people choose to start going to Walgreens Healthcare Clinics instead of going to their regular doctor in order to keep their costs down.
Check out this story that Diane Sawyer did regarding Telemedicine:
We don’t see anything bad about Telemedicine. We see it as a solution. What do you think?
