Have you ever heard customer service is key? Will bad customer service make you not patronize a business again? What about customer service health insurance? Let me tell you, from some of the complaints we have been reading on various social media sites regarding different insurance companies, we wonder how they stay in business.
What seems to be a common complaint is that people enrolled for health insurance and then they didn’t receive their cards. A second complaint is that the system captured the information wrong, they tried to contact the insurance company directly to make the change and were told they would have to go back through the online system in order to change it. Yet how they do that when they can’t get a live person. When we looked at these complaints, some people were saying they were on hold for 50 minutes or more. Then when a person clicked on, they were told to send a private message. The question could not be answered by the person on the other end.
Or one of the best ones they would type in a message and say they had to go. Some people were calling on a lunch break or they were calling at the end of their day, yet no one would pick up. Have you ever said, there’s an hour of my life I won’t get back. Let us be frank, there are people who have spent HOURS on these customer service lines attempting to get help only to find themselves complaining on social media in order to get some resolution that doesn’t seem to be happening.
On one particular page, we noted that a gentleman actually took his complaint to his local news after being ignored through social media. Oh yea, you better believe he got a resolution then. Unfortunately, that didn’t completely solve his problem. There he was again on social media trying to get it resolved.
Have you ever thought social media would be the answer to solving a problem? We have watched companies get put on “blast” as they say through social media and the next thing you know the customer is being helped. That doesn’t necessarily seem to be the case in a lot of these complaints when it comes to health insurance.
For those reading this who fall into this predicament, GOOD LUCK!!
