Wait a minute!! 64 Million Americans still can’t afford health insurance. We were led to believe that Obamacare would help people take care of their health. The more research we do, we learn that Obamacare is about people getting health insurance.
There is a BIG difference between having health insurance and getting health care. Dr. Wagner always says people have gotten health insurance which does not guarantee them health care.
The below article proves her right. This article is talking about people that have health insurance and because of high deductibles, they are foregoing doctor’s appointments. What do you have if you have health insurance and cannot afford to go to the doctor?
Medical care is going to the doctor, developing a relationship with the provider, telling them about your health and they also find out for themselves based on your history and talking with you how you take care of yourself. The provider makes a diagnosis and also tell you the best course of action they recommend.
For those who have health issues, how do you get around the high deductibles? What is the price to pay for having an insurance policy that is keeping you in a financial strain and putting your health on the back burner. Did these people choose a low premium so they could have health insurance and then find out later the deductible was too high? Or did they get a policy that was middle of the road on both thinking they would be okay until they actually got ready to start using it?
Our hearts go out to people in these dilemmas because they shouldn’t have ever been put in this position in the first place. Is it us or do you see this as well:
58 million Americans were uninsured before Obamacare
Last year 13 million Americans got Health Insurance under Obamacare (that includes Medicare)
Yet 64 MILLION can’t go to the doctor!! What was solved?
